Pai Gow Poker - A More Exhilarating Poker Game

Pai Gow Poker - A More Exhilarating Poker Game
True poker fans will love learning how to play Pai Gow poker. Based on the Chinese domino game of the identical name, Pai Gow poker is a seven-card stud game. For those who are beginners to the world of poker, Pai Gow is a more challenging and exciting version of poker, that can pay off well when played at the casinos. However, it is better to learn the rules of the game first in a free online casino before you try it in real life - you don't want to lose an unfortunate amount of money.
Pai Gow rules are similar to that of standard poker for winning hands. Pai Gow needs to be played with 53-cards; typically a standard deck with an additional joker. The best hand to make is a five-of-a-kind. As opposed to standard poker where the Royal Flush wins everything, in Pai Gow it is a five-of-a-kind that will top all hands, including the Royal Flush. This is what makes playing this form of poker so exhilarating.
The Game Play:
One big difference when playing Pai Gow poker is that you use seven cards to evaluate the hands. Players play against the dealer and for the game to start, every player must place a bet against him. Seven cards are then dealt to each player. Players separate five of the cards into one hand and the remaining two cards into another. No one is allowed to speak or touch anything while this is being done.
As mention, the highest hand possible in the five-card hand is a five-of-a-kind (The best you can hope for in the two-card hand is a pair). When all the players have decided on the split of their hands, they will then set them on the table face down. Once all hands are set, the dealer is then free to do the same with his cards before all hands are shown.
How Wins Are Determined:
The cards in both the player's five-hand and two-hand are matched against the dealer's hand. You must beat the dealer in both hands in order to win your bet. If you win just one of the hands (either the two-card hand or the five-card hand), this will be considered a "push" and your bet is returned to you. Should you lose both hands, the dealer wins your bet. Tied hands are considered a dealer win.
